📥 Installation & System Requirements

What macOS version do I need?

MarkForge requires macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later. The app works on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel-based Macs.

How do I install MarkForge?

  1. Download MarkForge from the Mac App Store
  2. The app will be automatically installed in your Applications folder
  3. Click "Open" when launching for the first time

How do I convert my first Markdown file?

Method 1 - Batch Convert:

  1. Open MarkForge
  2. Click on the "Batch Convert" tab
  3. Drag your .md files into the drop zone or click "Add Files"
  4. Select a template (e.g., "Professional")
  5. Click "Convert"
  6. The PDF will be saved to your Downloads folder

Where are the converted PDFs saved?

By default in your Downloads folder. You can change the save location during export via "Choose Output Directory".

Can I convert multiple files at once?

Yes! This is one of MarkForge's main features. Simply drag all desired Markdown files into the Batch Convert view and click "Convert". All files will be processed in one go.

No! All file processing occurs exclusively locally on your Mac. MarkForge does not send any data to external servers.

No! MarkForge does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry.

Does MarkForge require an internet connection?

No! MarkForge works completely offline. An internet connection is only required for downloading from the App Store.
